History

Inaugurated on 9 July 2009. A new campus of Salesian College Sonada affiliated to North Bengal University, accredited with NAAC and rated as College of Excellence by UGC in February 2010. The courses offered as of now are BA., BSc Comp Sc, Maths, Stats, B.Com Accounting and Management.

Activities

Besides the above mentioned Graduate Programme affiliated to NBU and the Career Oriented Programmes in Music, Computer Application, Tourism and Travel Management and Communicative English, there is also the DBTech-MoRD training in skill development in ITES, Hospitality and Retail Management, and, the IGNOU study centre offering BPP, CIC, BA, BCom, and CLP.

The Vision

The Campus has been requested from the state and the university as to cater to the growing need for quality higher education for the disadvantaged groups of North Bengal and the tribal groups in particular. It is also to cater to the demand for growth placed on Sonada which had its constraints due to the attached ministry of formation besides higher education. The campus at Siliguri therefore has the potential to grow to its maximum as a full fledged college. The plans are on way to realize this dream.
