History:
The Monsadah mission was opened in 1964 as a sub-station of Bongaon Parish. The first boarding at Monsadah was started in 1969 by Fr. Joe D'Souza, but had to be closed down because of the Indo-Pakistan Bangladesh war in 1971. The boarding was reopened on 28 January 1978 and was expanded into a bigger setup in 1980. In 1981 Fr. Scaria Nedumattathil took up the works in Monsadah and the boarding for girls was started in a rented home adjacent to the present girls' boarding. The present Albert's Home was built in 1987. The Daughters of St. Anne (DSA) Sisters came to look after the girls' boarding in 1988, and the M.C. Sisters arrived on 19 March 1992, to open a charitable dispensary, a Sishu Bhavan and to help in the village apostolate. The parish church, dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, was blessed and consecrated on 4 February 1993. The Rainbow Primary School, begun in 1990, was shifted to its present site in 1993, but today it is only a Coaching Centre. In 2001 the Community was canonically erected. The present community Hall was put up in 1994 together with the adjoining Vocational Training Centre which provides non-formal training in typing and tailoring.
Pastoral care of the of the people, Hostel for boys (St. Albert's home), Coaching centre at the primary level, a small vocational training centre providing non-formal training in computer, typing and tailoring are some of the services offered for the people of Monsadah. The Parish has 5 mission stations and about 1500 parishioners.
