History:
When the Indian province was established, the Provincial office was situated in Shillong. Later, the office was shifted to various places according to various historical circumstances: The Catholic Orphan Press in the Cathedral premises of Calcutta, Liluah, Guwahati (during World War II), the Cathedral premises again and Don Bosco, Park Circus. In 1973 a piece of land belonging to the Loreto Sisters was purchased and the Provincial Offices were shifted from Park Circus to the present location at Tengra. The house was canonically established on 4 July 1974, dedicated to St. Francis de Sales.
Direction, coordination and administration of Province level activities are done from here. Besides the offices of the Provincial staff, it accommodates a Correspondence Office, and the Province Accounting Department.
