Don Bosco Kathmandu is the Don Bosco Society's millennium gift to Nepal. The vision of the society is to offer to the youth of Nepal, particularly those of Kathmandu, an opportunity to empower themselves with technical skills and produce the much needed skilled manpower. To attain this the society is in the process of setting up two Institutes in the valley - at Lubhu and at Thecho.
DON BOSCO HIGH & TECH. SCHOOL, LUHBU:
A centre for vocational training and a high school is under construction. The aim of the Institute is to cater for the poor youth of the area, particularly the school dropouts and the under-privileged. A computer centre is already functioning. A Nepali medium high school has been started since 2002.
The centre also has an outreach programme. About 100 children are enrolled in an educationaI sponsorship scheme. These children receive educational help and health care.
DON BOSCO INSTITUTE,THECHO:
In the millennium year a 33 ropanis property was acquired by the Society with a view to setting up a credible and quality oriented Technical and Vocational Training Institute. It introduced in 2002 computer training programme, evening coaching classes and language classes. An outreach programme offers educational help to the poor and needy children of the locality.
